I wish people better understood that I have a very real anxiety response around online conflict. I'm capable of holding my own in a debate. I used to debate people online just for the sake of learning, years ago. I did learn a lot from it; debate is a great tool. IF you use it correctly. The thing is, most people don't. Most people use it to beat others over the head, instead of for their own knowledge. I still go back and forth with people sometimes, especially if it's a topic I feel strongly on, but I really have to limit it. I AM capable of either countering arguments or admitting when I don't know enough about a subject to comment further, or even admit when I'm wrong. But the process of going back and forth itself, especially for more than a couple hours, is just very stressful to me. ESPECIALLY if the other party is not at all gracious. For this reason, I often decline to engage when people challenge my views. What's most frustrating is when people take that as a sign that I am

I have mentioned or given hints of this here and there on this account, and some of you may have caught it. But I want to clarify: I'm not straight. I can develop feelings for other girls/people of the same sex. It's not often that I develop feelings for anyone--male or female.....but it has happened. I'm still very much Christian, and very much theologically conservative. (Though not politically so, anymore.) So, yes, I do still believe that acting on same sex attraction is a sin. This is known as "side B", an unaffirming theological position taken by LGBT Christians. ("Side A" is affirming. And then there's another unaffirming theology coined as "side X", but we won't talk about side X right now.) A few people who are close to me do know of this account, and if you are reading this, I want to say: feel free to reach out to me and ask questions. Please do. But please do not tell other people about this. The church has a long long way to go when it comes to treating people like me
