So, looking over the notes I took on the sermons from camp this summer, and decided to share a little bit out of what I wrote down. If it helps, the sermons were based out of Romans 8.

"Mercy:
-not getting what you deserve (the wrath of God)

Grace:
-getting what you don't deserve (the righteousness of Christ)

Mercy: involves taking

Grace: involves giving
                                                                    Romans 8:3-9
What God takes:
-sin

What God gives:
-Holy Spirit

-you have all of the holy spirit (does the holy spirit have all of you?)

-you're not holding onto Christ, He's holding onto you

-Jesus said we would be better off with the holy spirit
--He gave us more than an example, He gave us His spirit to fuel it

-the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you            Romans 8:10

-embrace conviction and reject condemnation

Conviction:
-from God
-leads to life
-ends in joy
-makes us want to change
-looks to Jesus

Condemnation:
-from Satan
-leads to death
-ends in despair
-makes us believe we cannot change
-looks to self"

I'm not the greatest note-taker ever, so hopefully this makes sense. I'm glad I wrote this stuff down, though.
